Congratulations to the BASH wrestling team as they took home 11th place at this year's Beast of the East Tournament. This event is considered by many to be the premier wrestling tournament in the United States. Over 110 teams competed from schools all over the United States. The Bears were in the mix early as almost every wrestler was able to score points during the opening rounds. The Bears accummulated an impressive 14 falls, 7 major decisions and one regular decision which earned them their 11th place spot.
The lone Boyertown place winner Alex Pellicciotti, who went 6-2 and scored 3 falls throughout the two day tourney and earned 4th place, had an incredidble tournament that saw him beat many of the toughest competitors in the country. Coach Ventresca commented about his team's performance, "I believe we wrestled well over the course of this tournament. It (the Beast of the East) is truly a 'meat grinder' of a tournament which tests you both mentally and physically. I thought our kids showed alot of tenacity and toughness and really supported each other through it all."
