Pellicciotti and Malfaro medal; finish 1-2 for career wins

In Boyertown's storied wrestling tradition, few will be remembered as being on the short list of wrestlers who could be considered as an "all time great". Alex Pellicciotti and Matt Malfaro have placed themselves on that short list and cemented their legacy as being "all time greats". On Saturday, March 13th, Matt Malfaro ended his career at Hershey with 149 career victories and a 7th place medal at the PIAA State Championships. Matt would have been the career wins record holder if it weren't for his teammate Alex Pellicciotti who also ended his career at Hershey with 170 career victories and a 5th place medal. Alex has set many school records throughout his career including career wins, career pins and placing three times (5th and two 7ths) in the incredibly tough PIAA State Wrestling Championships.
Coach Ventresca commented on the dynamic duo's performance: "I was truly happy to see both of these guys end their careers on a high note. They had great careers for us and deserve every honor they received."
Juniors Jeremy Minich and Zach Heffner qualified for the state championships but each fell short of earning a medal. Minich went 1-2 while Heffner went 0-2.
